About Us

“Whenever I see an adult on a bicycle, I do not despair for the human race. ”

Why I Ride?

This question has been posed to me countless times. Why would someone ride a bike non-stop for 24 hours? Why endure days of cycling with minimal sleep, regardless of weather conditions? The simple answer is that I can.

To me, riding or running long distances is a mental exercise. While my body may grow tired and yearn for rest, my mind triumphs over the aches, cramps, heat, cold, wind, rain, mountains, and deserts. It’s the ability to merge with the bicycle, functioning as a well-oiled machine, tirelessly churning out miles.

Loneliness, fatigue, self-doubt, and pain become insignificant as the mind and body unite, propelling me along the never-ending road. Ultracycling, to me, is like riding a dream.

Support Crew

In the soloist bicycle ride across America, the rider may be alone, but they are never truly alone.  The support crew stands beside them.

They are the backbone, the lifeline, and the invaluable sidekicks of the rider.

The crew chief takes charge, making tough decisions when the rider can’t. Massage therapists keep the legs happy. The nutrition guru provides essential fuel. Drivers, of course, and maybe everyone takes a turn at that.

This dream team works in shifts ensuring that support is always there, awake and ready.

The support crew is more than a backup team. They are motivators, mentors, and true partners. Together, rider and crew conquer the road.
